Cotton T-shirt with print

Tayaupa    by Fidencio Benitez

Meaning of the stamping: Tatewari, the old god of fire, charged the sun to rule the earth. Tayaupá, the Sun, made four sacred deer responsible for this work; kauyumarie, in the east, Ushikuikawe in the south, Watemukame, in the west and Narihuame in the north (four figures with a comamento on the top).

Through a hole in a stone dico placed in the wall of the temple, Tayaupá can see the world and his rays of light enter the temple bringing fertility to all people. Every year Huichol pilgrims travel to the eastern desert where the Sun was born, to collect the sacred cactus "hikuri" (the deer shaped plant) and through many ceremonies ensure the well being of all people and animals.

"Give Mexican handicrafts as a gift to your friends or special guests. Our selection can be customized and are the detail that never goes unnoticed. Get to know the true spirit of handicrafts and take part of the history of Huichol handicrafts with you. "
