Special Huichol Art Jaguar

Jaguar figure made of resin, decorated by Huichol artists from the western Sierra Madre in the state of Nayarit. The work is made with glass micro beads of different colors glued by means of wax that has been used particularly for this art, different symbology with different meanings are captured as a way of expression of the artists in the pieces.

The jaguar is considered a guardian of the underworld and is associated with strength and the ability to move between the earthly and spiritual worlds. In Huichol art, its representation not only seeks to capture its physical appearance, but also to convey its spiritual essence and its connection to the divine.
