Alebrije carved and hand painted in copal wood. The Oaxacan alebrijes are characterized by being inspired by the Zapotec culture and its protective animals, such as the wolf. They are unique pieces due to the complexity of its design and elaboration.
These alebrijes come from Oaxaca. In their towns, one of the main economic bases is the elaboration of these handicrafts.
