Description
Box of Olinalá Guerrero carved and painted by hand, which gives off a delicious aroma in its wood of lináloe essence. The Lináloe tree is native to the region of Guerrero, it is allowed to take the sap from the tree to make the essence and impregnate the boxes with its aroma.
The so-called lacquer or maque of pre-Hispanic origin is an important decorative technique in the popular art of Mexico. The technique consists of decorating objects with a mixture made of minerals, vegetables and animals, especially oils and earth of different colors. Using the technique of scratching and brush tip that highlights a variety of ornamental motifs: fretwork, flowers, animals and landscapes, as well as various colors and combinations that give it its own stamp.
